Power and Control Solutions
i2R Systems has two main areas of focus; power conversion design and analysis and embedded hardware & software solutions. We analyze the need, make recommendations, write the specifications, engineer the solution, build prototypes, support compliance testing, and provide complete manufacturing documentation.
Testing and Certification
i2R Systems provides the customer with testing and certification support of products we develop, including UL/CE and EMC compliance. From radiated and conducted emissions and susceptibility testing to electrical fast transient and electrostatic discharge compliance, we have the expertise to support your testing needs.
i2R Systems has extensive experience in the design of power conversion systems involving IGBTs, SCRs and rectifiers to convert power to the customer’s specification. In addition, i2R’s hallmark competency is design of power systems involving harmonics mitigation, large motor starting, and embedded control systems .
The i2R Systems team consists of experienced engineers with diverse skills from a variety of industries. Our expertise includes power systems engineering, hardware design, layout, and PC and embedded software development. Harry Hagerty is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania. He has managed product development and R&D involving direct technical design oversight of internal and external resources. This includes solid state power electronics for motor control of SCR (Silicon Controller Rectifier) reduced voltage starters from small three phase motors up to 22,000 horsepower.
Analysis includes SCR, heat sink and R-C suppressor design for soft starter product lines through 15kVAC as a core competency. Harry Hagerty designed the first UL347 listed 5kV solid state starter and received a US and Canadian patent for software control algorithms.
In addition, Harry managed 600VAC variable frequency drive development for systems up to 700 HP. Mr. Hagerty also has extensive application engineering and management in all aspects of synchronous and asynchronous three phase machines, as well as AC power system engineering simulation expertise for solid state motor controls.
